\nA relationship between two people is not just a physical or emotional attachment. There are also energetic bonds that form between people, which are often not obvious but are extremely strong. These bonds can create a feeling of burden, but also an inability to break the relationship \u2014 as if we are tied to the other person by an invisible rope. Even though we want to leave, we feel paralyzed and trapped.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Karmic relationships \u2013 debt from the past
\nSome relationships have deeper, karmic roots. We are connected to certain people from past lives, where the relationships may not have been resolved. Therefore, in the present, we can find ourselves in a relationship that we feel is \u201cfated\u201d, even if it is full of pain. The feeling that we have to stay, that we owe something, is strong and often keeps us in a vicious circle.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Fear of losing identity
\nAnother reason why it's hard to leave a long-term relationship is the loss of identity. In long-term relationships, we often become so intertwined with the other person that part of our self-image is based on that partnership. When we contemplate the end, we're not just losing the person \u2014 we feel like we're losing a part of ourselves. <\/p>\n
What can we do?
\nThe first step is awareness. Recognizing that the relationship no longer serves our development is key. Only when we heal our inner selves can we truly close the door and open new ones.
