How many times have we heard: “This is how it has always been and this is how it will always be.” Or: “This is how I am and this is how I will always be.” Many people resist change, convinced that their beliefs, habits, and ways of doing things are the only right ones. But the truth is that as long as we cling tightly to the past and learned patterns, we do not know ourselves in our purest form.
Each of us carries with us invisible burdens – beliefs, emotional attachments, expectations, influences from past experiences and karmic connections. These energies define us, but they also limit us. The true self can only emerge when we allow ourselves to change, when we allow everything that is not truly a part of us to fall away.
Being open to change is an essential part of personal growth, and change is the key to inner freedom. This does not mean adapting to others or following the expectations of those around us. On the contrary – true transformation happens within us when we realize that old ways of thinking and acting no longer serve our growth. Life often shows us that something needs to shift, and when we feel it, we have two options:
1. We stay in the old pattern, even though it stifles and limits us.
2. We embrace change and allow ourselves to become who we truly are.
Those around us may be surprised at first, or even accept our change with resistance. People are used to certain energies and roles that we have played over the years. But if we persist on the path to ourselves, eventually the world around us will adapt. People who truly value us will accept our growth, and new relationships will form from our primal, pure energy.
The greatest liberation comes when we allow ourselves to shatter our own ideas about who we should be. When we accept that our views, feelings, and perceptions of the world can completely change. This does not mean that we lose ourselves – quite the opposite. In doing so, we finally encounter our true nature.
That's why the most beautiful gift we can give ourselves is this: to allow ourselves to change. To embrace the unknown. To allow ourselves to be something other than what we thought we were. And in this new space of freedom, we will feel how real life flows more easily, more fulfilled, and in greater touch with ourselves.
